Tanzania has no bad season —

Calving season, southern Serengeti. Up to 8,000 wildebeest calves are born a day on the Ndutu short-grass plains, and every predator in the ecosystem knows it. Clear skies, green grass, the most concentrated big-cat action of the year.
Best for: photographers, repeat safari-goers, families over the school break.
Long rains — the quiet luxury window. Fewer vehicles, dramatic skies and camp rates at their lowest. Roads can be slow, and some mobile camps close, so we build these trips around the lodges that stay strong.
Best for: honeymooners, budget-conscious first-timers, birders.
Dry season begins, Grumeti crossings. The herds push north and west, the grass shortens and game viewing sharpens everywhere. Crocodile drama at the Grumeti River in most years.
Best for: classic first safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs, anyone who wants dependable weather.
Mara River crossings, peak game viewing. The Serengeti’s northern sector delivers the crossings everyone pictures. Wildlife concentrates around water, so sightings are reliable park-wide. Book nine to twelve months ahead.
Best for: the migration crossings, once-in-a-lifetime trips.
Short rains, herds returning south. Brief afternoon showers wash the dust out of the air and the light turns extraordinary. Green landscapes, newborn plains game, and space in camps right up to the Christmas peak.

The questions we get most
Our tailor-made journeys typically run between $550 and $1,400 per person per night, all-inclusive on safari — guide, private vehicle, park fees, camp, meals and drinks. The range reflects the camps you choose and the season. We’ll give you an honest figure before you commit to anything.
For the Mara River crossings (August to October) and Christmas, nine to twelve months ahead. For most other dates, four to six months is comfortable. We do place late bookings — it just narrows the camp list.
Yes. Tanzania is one of Africa’s most settled safari destinations, and the northern circuit is very well travelled. Your guide stays with you throughout, camps are escorted after dark, and we brief you properly before arrival.
Yellow fever proof is required only if you’re arriving from a country where it’s endemic. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for all safari areas. Speak to a travel clinic six to eight weeks before departure — we’ll send a full pre-departure pack.
Every journey is private by default: your family or party, one guide, one vehicle. Land Cruisers seat six, and we never sell an empty seat to a stranger.
A 30% deposit confirms your camps, with the balance due 60 days before arrival. Our cancellation terms follow the camps’ own policies and are written into your proposal in plain language before you pay anything.
